Special Youth Challenge Pheasant Hunt

Okoboji Game Farm,LLC and Clay County Pheasants Forever hosted a pheasant hunt Saturday September 27^th for five youth.  The hunt was a portion of the activities organized by Special Youth Challenge Ministries, Inc. of Dallas, Georgia (SYC).  SYC provides all types of hunting activities for challenged youth.  Deer hunts were planned at the Denny and Kathy Somers home near Webb.  Many local sponsors and volunteers helped to make the outings successful for the youth and their families. 

At Okoboji Game Farm (OGF) each youth had a volunteer mentor.  Besides the mentor there were volunteers assisting and working with the dogs for pointing and retrieving.  As evidenced by the picture, every youth had a very successful hunt. 

Participating youth and hosts pictured are: front-Eric Kifselstine of West Bridge, NY and Dustin Scott of Chatsworth, GA.  In the back are Doug Dodge of OGF, Jake Carlson of Sioux Rapids, IA, Matt Petersen of Hartley, IA, David Warren of Spencer, IA, and Lynn Dodge of OGF. 

The Outdoor Channel taped the deer and pheasant hunts and will air the episode in the month of October.
