Running Order and Results 2009 Okoboji Game Farm held its fifth Spring End Zone Gundog Challenge Saturday March 28th. As always, the competition was fierce; the dog was work amazing. Twenty four teams competed in the one day competition with both pointer and flusher divisions. The daylight savings time helped allow for more entrants in the day long event. Each team consisted of two persons and one dog in search of five pheasants in twenty or fewer minutes. Flusher division winners were Troy Tilleraas and Shawn Piotter (pictured) of Hastings, Minnesota with Nugget. They won over the second place team of Jeremy and JJ Franken (pictured) of Sioux Center with Gunner by five seconds or one point. Each team found, shot, and delivered five pheasants to the bag in about 10 minutes and put new scores into the competition record book. Third place flusher winners were JJ Franken and Austin Hofman of Sioux Center with Belle. In the pointer division, the top two dogs were Labrador Retrievers. Pointer division winners were Fritz Baier of Red Oak (pictured) and Rob Hagen of Fort Dodge with Beamer. Placing second again was Jeremy and JJ Franken with Gunner. The third place finisher is no stranger to the gundog challenge. Mel Berryhill and Joe Weir of Milford with Jilly placed third. Jilly has placed in every gundog challenge that she was entered! Okoboji Game Farm would like to thank our sponsor The End Zone of Arnolds Park, Polaris for the use of the 4-wheeler, all of the participants, and the outstanding judges and helpers for their part in making the Gundog Challenge a fun event!
