2006 Winter Games Sporting Clays Results The second Lewis class sporting clays tournament at Okoboji Game Farm in conjunction with the University of Okoboji Winter Games was held January 28th and 29th. With each entry a participant shot 50 clays from two 5-stands. The first half was report pairs, while the second half was true pairs. The competition was fierce, especially in the upper two classes where there was less than an eight point spread. In Lewis class the entry money is divided by the number of classes. The first place winner in each class gets half; while the second gets thirty percent, and third gets twenty percent. Congratulations to Tony Petersen of Spirit Lake who was the top finisher for the weekend with a score of 43 out of 50. Second and third place for Class A were Steve Ohm of LeMars and Todd Lambertus of Milford respectively. Class B winners in order were Glen Lonneman of Worthington, Steve Arnold of Spirit Lake, and Brian Kelly of Lake Park. Steve Arnold, Jim Studer of Milford, and Brent Rossow of Lakefield were Class C winners. Class D winners were Tom Strub of Iowa City, Mel Berryhill of Milford, and Jeff Christie of Spirit Lake. It was a fun event to host-no matter what the weather! Plans are in order to make the tournament even better next year. Other events planned at Okoboji Game Farm include a 5-stand winter league. Each team of two will shoot eight scores within nine weeks ending on April 2nd. To sign up, come to Okoboji Game Farm on Sunday afternoons to shoot or call Doug at 712-853-6378. March 1st is the entry deadline for the Gundog Challenge to be held March 4th and 5th. The gundog challenge consists of two people, one dog, ten shells, five birds and twenty minutes. See entry forms and rules. The following participants are listed in order of scores with flight winners announced to the side. Congratulations to all participants.
