Okoboji Game Farm held the 2006 Country Vet Gundog Challenge March 4th and 5th.  Forty seven teams consisting of two persons and one dog entered the two division-two day event.  Mel Berryhill, Matt Berryhill, and Jilly of Milford came in Sunday morning and earned the highest score ever in the two years of this event.  Jilly was amazing as she pointed and retrieved five birds in just over ten minutes.  The top two teams in the amateur flusher division on Sunday also turned in record breaking scores.

Saturday winners in the pointer pro division were Barry Paulson of Estherville and Jerry Thompson of Pipestone, MN.  Following closely in second place were Steve Labernik and Jeff Seier of Spencer.  Third place winners in the pro division were Mel and Matt Berryhill of Milford. 

Saturday winners in the pointer amateur division were Clark Schmitz and Steve Kovarna of Brunsville, IA.  Second place winners were Steve Peterson and Tony Petersen of Milford.  Marlan and Kevin Kaufman of Milford were third place winners.

Saturday pro flusher division winner was the team of Gary Van Wettering (pictured left) and Tim Mouser of Spencer.  Amateur flusher winners were Tom Thackery and Craig Merrill of Armstrong.  Second place winners were Jerry Palmer and Bob Hummel of Jackson, MN.  Ross Behrends of Slayton, MN and Brian Nyborg of Jackson, MN were third place amateur flusher winners.

Saturday raffle winners and prizes were Matt Conlon, grab light; Marlan Kaufman, gun rack; Rick Hockel, signed dog print.  Sunday raffle winners and prizes were Jim Cushman, grab light; Kyle Norris, gun rack; James Farmer, signed dog print.

Sunday winners in the pro pointer division were Mel and Matt Berryhill of Milford.  Joe Weir and Matt Berryhill took second place pro honors.  First place winners in the amateur pointer division were Kyle Norris and Brett Groen of Spencer (pictured below with Jake).  Second place winners were Tim Dawson and Steve Mann of Spirit Lake, while Jim Cushman of Terril and Tim Webb of Milford captured third place in a competitive race. 

Sunday amateur flusher winners Tony Petersen and Scott Peterson with Kelly earned the second highest score of the day and event history.  They were followed closely by Dan Trosin and Chris Brandon with Misty of Estherville (pictured left) who earned the third highest score of the day and event history.  Third place winners were Tim Webb and Jim Cushman.  First and second pro flusher winners on Sunday were Doug Dodge of Milford and Steve Arnold of Spirit Lake with Gib and Tress.
